Abby Cadman

Arbiona’s (a.k.a Abby's) story started in Albania where her parents were living and working in a dangerous political system that forced them out of the country for fear of their lives. At the age of 6, Abby and her family became political refugees in Australia, and their story of incredible resilience and success through adversity shaped the person Abby is today.

Her positive outlook on life and absolute dedication to her dreams led Abby to pursue her passion of owning a business in hospitality and F&B as an outlet for her creativity and love of entertaining and cooking.

Having received her bachelor's in Business and then gaining valuable experience setting up her family's business, Abby began plans to open her own restaurant with a chef friend of hers.

This plan did not come to fruition as she followed her now husband, Ben, to Hong Kong for a new adventure. She quickly began working for Relish and through a serendipitous event, purchased the company from the previous owner who was moving back to her home country of New Zealand.

In July 2019, Abby was finally living her dream of owning her own F&B business, soon to be challenged by political unrest and over two years of Covid! These hurdles did not deter her dedication but acted as opportunities to adapt and improve the business. While other companies were folding, Relish is still standing having navigated through extreme economic environments.

In early 2021, the opportunity arose to acquire Gingers, a well-established catering company in Hong Kong. Abby has been dedicated to maintaining the reputation and quality that Gingers has built across 20 years of service, whilst also evolving the business to remain relevant and competitive in this ever-changing environment.

Despite a global pandemic and political unrest, Abby has successfully managed to steer both companies, developing and growing along the way. The future of the catering industry in Hong Kong is tough to predict but it’s clear that Abby will be best placed to ensure Relish and Gingers fly through with plenty of success along the way.
